* Auditions for the rock musical RENT to be directed by Paul Deakin will take place on Saturday 2nd June from 1-5pm with call-backs on Sunday 3rd June from 1-4pm. Click here for further information.

* The 2012/2014 Production meeting will be held on Friday 8th June 2012 at the Prospect Playhouse. Potential directors and/or producers should come armed with the facts about the production they wish to stage. Help in establishing potential budget figures can be had by contacting Neil Rooney or Paul de Freitas prior to the day. The event will begin with a Happy Hour with nibbles at 6pm followed by the actual Production Meeting at 7pm.

* Auditions for the Neil Simon comedy RUMORS to be directed by Paul Njoka and produced by Adam Cockerill will take place on Saturday 26 May and Sunday 27 May 2012 from 10am to 1pm both days. Click here for further information. 

* An order has been placed with Audiophile Ltd for two new high performance JBL PRX615M 15" speakers, a JBL PRX618S powered 18" sub-woofer and a DBX Drive Rack PA+ speaker control system. The existing 12" speakers donated by Joanne Wilson will be moved to the important role of stage monitors to replace the aging existing monitors. All devices are now hooked directly to a 28-channel snake.

* The second part of the sound upgrade at the Playhouse is now complete with the installation of a Yamaha MG32-14FX sound mixer which apart from having 32 channels, also offers a range of built-in special effects like reverb. Many thanks to new volunteer techie Chris Anco for his help with this.

* Many thanks to Peter Pasold who has been installing shelving into the technical area of the Playhouse to allow better storage of all of those things needed to stage successful productions.

* The Production Committee has decided to postpone the comedy The Thirty-Nine Steps by John Buchan until Spring of 2013. This is to allow Paul Njoka and Adam Cockerill to stage Rumors, a Neil Simon comedy in the September 2012 time slot.

* Congrats to Valerie Hoppe and her husband Uli on the arrival of Maximilian ( 7 lbs 10 oz) on March 30th. Maximilian was an unofficial cast member of Godspell.

* Congrats to Angelica Lynne Borden who stars in this Lawson - When She Was Mine music video.

* Miss Jackie's School of Dance has an Open House on May 26th at the studio in Pasadora place, adjacent to Petique.  The event is to give parents and children a chance to review the new packages and discounts for September 2012. Click here for a brochure. Miss Jackie's is celebrating its 39th year in Cayman and has awarded 22 scholarships in the last decade.

* Cayman National Choir and Cayman National Orchestra will perform Haydn - Lord Nelson Mass and Mendelsson - The Hebrides Ouverture (Fingal's Cave) at First Baptist at 7.30pm on 31st May 2012. Tickets CI$ 15 (CI$ 5 children / students). Go to Facebook for further details

* Lighthouse School will present its 2012 National Childrens' Festival of the Arts concert for parents and families at the Prospect Playhouse on Friday 15th June 2012.

* Centrepointe Dance will be presenting its Parent Show at the Prospect Playhouse on the evening of Friday 22 June and during the afternoon and evening of Saturday 23 June. Parents wanting information or tickets should contact Miss Anita directly.
